We are so excited to officially announce to the world that Baby Shultz will be joining us in December! I am finally out of the first trimester and feeling more like a normal human again, and its fantastic. There are so many women out there who had it way worse than I did (and my heart seriously goes out to you all), but even then, 24 hour nausea is no freaking fun and I’m pretty sure I never stood up for longer than 2 minutes at a time. Zak is super happy this phase is over too since he got left with all the cooking, cleaning, and laundry on top of his already exhausting schedule. Husband of the year ladies and gents. HUSBAND OF THE YEAR.
I am currently a little over 13 weeks right now. We’ve been super lucky and at every appointment we’ve had now we’ve been able to hear the heartbeat, as early as 6 weeks! It is just a miracle and I cry every time while smiling ear to ear. It’s just so NEAT. The little bean looks like a baby now, and its so fun to see “it” jumping around or just stretching out hammock style with the little hand behind the head and the feet stretched out. I’m deep in love already.
In case you are wondering the story behind the onesie… well, if you know us you are already familiar with Zak’s Birthday where everyone comes with a t-shirt they made with a favorite quote on it from a movie, song, etc, and then we go out to karaoke after some pizza and beer. When I found out I was pregnant Zak was at work and I couldn’t wait for him to get home… so I asked him to come home early so we could “finalize our taxes.” As soon as he came in through the door I asked him to sit down and then gave him the onesie with the preggo test inside. He was pretty thrown off, and just kept saying “Really??” and then got so excited. It was really fun to surprise him! But I did have to take another test that said “Yes” instead of the two lines, because apparently those pink stripes aren’t solid enough for a guy to believe you’re “for sure” pregnant. Details.
So that is our fun update!! I have been hiding somewhat from here the past couple months because all I wanted to do was share this all with the world so I just laid low until now. Phew! So glad we don’t have to wait anymore!
Here’s my lil baby bump… it will be so fun to see it grow!
We’ll keep you updated as things progress… thanks for being excited with us! “Exciting times,” as my dad would say.
